The story begins in Shanghai , in June 2006 ; two expatriate friends, open the first PLATANE boutique in the very charming and lined tree street of Yongfu Lu, in a neighboring area of the former French concession.

Shanghai 2008 ; Laetitia Charachon continues the brand’s story and launches a second larger store, in the lively enclave of Taikang Lu, close to Tianzifang. And the story goes on in Beijing ; in June 2011 Platane^TM opens a “shop in a shop” within the “Rouge Baiser” boutique, in the “chic” and international district of Sanlitun.

The Platane stores create a unique atmosphere by subtly blending the Chinese culture heritage with the modern lifestyle. From the beginning, Platane has combined traditions, worldwide design, home wares and fashion accessories in a very distinctive simplicity and elegance.

The eclectic ranges showcase Platane’s editions as well as imported foreign brands selected for their high quality or design.
Each customer’s visit is a shopping experience in a unique retail space where he discovers original and trendy products that cannot be found yet in China.

TEA TASTING EVENT, APRIL 2011
Platane hold a delightful tea tasting with a tea expert Lyne Wang. The audience discovered the Chinese tea culture, the specificities of regional teas and spent an enjoyable moment.
	1. Brief introduction about various types of tea (green tea, black tea, re-fermented oolong, lightly fermented oolong) and different places of origins. 2. The process of tea producing. 3. how to brew and enjoy tea.
Our Expert Lyne Wang. Lyne, a former Shanghainese doctor, has been living in Paris for 20 years and dedicating her time to the study of tea culture . She scoured all teas gardens of china, even in the region of Taiwan to find the best quality and most tasteful teas. She carefully selects the tea-producing areas and the farmers producers to be sure to choose the very best leaves. Her several years of medical studies help her to perfect the mastering of tea science. Lyne has a wonderful capacity in sharing her experience and making sure everybody enjoys a delightful cup of tea. She has also developed her own modern and beautiful range of clay tea pots and porcelain tea sets that are displayed in the Platane stores.
